DSL Lawyers and PLMJ Partnership Agreement Ceremony

DSL Lawyers hosted the signing ceremony and cocktail reception to celebrate the establishment of a Partnership Agreement with Portugal’s largest law firm PLMJ.

The Partnership Agreement marked the beginning of a new stage in the relations between the two firms, who have been working together to establish a professional cooperation for the last two years. The partnership forms part of a network of partnerships and alliances of PLMJ – the PLMJ International Legal Network – mainly across Portuguese speaking countries. The network benefits from the synergies generated by a common language and culture, especially in Angola, Mozambique and Brazil.

PLMJ is one of Portugal’s leading law firms, offering full services in multidisciplinary areas, with more than 40 years of experience and 640 lawyers within its international network in Portuguese speaking countries (200 being in Portugal).

DSL Lawyers was founded in 2007 by a team of senior lawyers with over 15 years of experience as legal professionals in Macau. In 2008 the firm became involved in the expansion of economic relationships between greater China and the Portuguese speaking countries, which led to the creation of a partnership with PLMJ.

The ceremony, which was attended by Luís Sáragga Leal, PLMJ’s founding and managing partner, and Carlos Duque Simões, managing partner of DSL Lawyers, and followed cocktail were held on Tuesday, 15th of March 2011, at the Macau Tower Convention Center and was followed by a cocktail.

It followed a seminar on investment opportunities in Portuguese speaking countries held on Monday, 14th March 2011, in which Luis Sáragga Leal gave a presentation on concrete business opportunities in Portugal, Angola, Mozambique and Brazil.
